Wednesday Market
A place to see what Green Bay really looks like.
Market season started a few weeks ago here, but tonight was the first opportunity I had to go out and photo walk. Over the last few years the Wednesday and Saturday markets have become a few of my favorite places to people watch and photo walk. They are places where Green Bay looks like itself - without the mask of a professional football city.
Here are a few of my favorite snaps from tonight.
For the best experience, I recommend viewing these images on a device larger than a phone.
A few weeks ago the market organizers put out some new market rules in their newsletter. The ones highlighted stood out and I wondered if the obnoxious Jesus evangelists - who lecture passersby and shove their printed propoganda at everyone - would be held to them.
It appears the rules do not apply to them.

A Season of Farmers' Markets
The Green Bay Area has a bunch of farmers’ markets that run weekly from spring into early fall. The two biggest ones are in downtown Green Bay, colloquially called the Saturday and Wednesday markets.
I facilitate Artists in the Garden, a partnership between The Art Garage and the Green Bay Botanical Garden, Tuesdays 4p-6p. Free to attend. BYO supplies.

Purchase a copy of my photo zine, Genuine Curiosity. I have seven different volumes available on my website, and locally at Lion’s Mouth Bookstore and The Art Garage.
Shop my Blick Art Materials WISH LIST for me! I use a lot of supplies in my daily art practice and even a few colored pencils go a long way to keep me working and improving my skills. This is a list of some of the items I use most often or would like to add to my practice. 🫶🏻
Buy a paid subscription to this Substack. All of my content is free for anyone. A paid subscription helps me pay photo and zine printing costs.

Are you kidding me?!?! Your telling me they only enforced the rules like the first Wednesday?!?! I don't know if I'm gonna go to anymore because I don't like it! How would they feel if I handed out pamphlets that went against their beliefs? Would I get kicked out?
hey ladies ;)
