The pink tractor rocks. This takes me back to Brat Days and Bratfest, two separate events, two separate cities.

Thank you for exploring and writing about my hometown! Can't beat the parade, polka music, and Polish food. Unfortunately you're quite spot on about the community's homogeneity (i.e. very white) and conservative tendencies.

I'm holding onto hope that things are shifting slightly. I will mention Chris Taylor took the lead amongst Spring election voters in Pulaski. By literally only 21 voters I believe, but it still... And I was heartened to see a Francesca Hong yard sign while I was driving through town the other day!

Yes! I did see one small Francesca Hong yard sign by the Polka Day grounds! Thanks for having a look at these photos. 🫢🏻

Some nice catches from he pared. Did you oly shoot with phone? And, it looks like you change lenses, some photos look wider and some abit close ups.

I undertand political side. I would also not be so happy. But what can we do. Same split of opinios exists even in my country...divided society.

I used a DSLR with a small 18-55 zoom lens. It's an inexpensive kit but it's honestly better than my mirrorless and prime lenses for this type of event.
